Builder Kit setup plan

Platform: macOS
This command will:
  1. Use executable directory /Users/easton/.local/bin.
  2. Use Builder Kit directory /Users/easton/.kit.
  3. Use installer directory /Users/easton/.kit/installer.
  4. Install the kit command to /Users/easton/.local/bin.
  5. Inspect current macOS user easton with home directory /Users/easton.
  6. Inspect Builder Kit Nix configuration at /Users/easton/.kit/nix.
  7. Detected Nix state: present and responding.
  8. Detected configuration state: managed Builder Kit configuration.
  9. Download release 2026.09.0 from GitHub over HTTPS.
  10. Preview: trust GitHub/HTTPS; no signatures or hash checks are performed.
  11. Reuse the existing responding Nix installation without reinstalling it.
  12. Stop setup because this machine already appears managed by Builder Kit.
  13. Collect student Git identity and tool preferences without storing secrets.
  14. Write those values only into the marked Builder Kit user settings block.
  15. Validate and activate nix-darwin/Home Manager for the current macOS user.
  16. Builder Kit confirmation has already been accepted for this command.
